Tradeoff: SQLite over Postgres: zero ops at small scale, known ceiling past that. Most teams don't need a managed database for changelogs.

AI diabetes education assistant with safety built into the architecture, not bolted on after launch.

Tradeoff: Four-layer safety over feature depth: the emergency keyword fast-path was built before any feature. Nothing reaches the LLM until a crisis check runs in under 1ms.

AI fitness coach that puts culture first, validated through 65% onboarding completion vs 35-40% industry benchmarks.

Tradeoff: No auth, localStorage over database: zero backend cost at MVP scale. Acceptable for validation; data lost if browser cleared is a known limitation.
